Stevie winners will be celebrated during a virtual awards ceremony on Aug. 5
DENVER (May 19, 2020) – Novitas Communications and the Colorado Apartment Association received a Gold Stevie® Award in the Communications or PR Campaign of the Year – Public Affairs category in the 18th Annual American Business Awards®. The campaign’s objective was to educate Coloradans about solutions that drive housing affordability during the 2019 legislative session.
The American Business Awards program was started in 2002 by Michael P. Gallagher, an American businessman, who started the Stevie Awards as a way to restore public confidence and investor trust after the Enron scandal in 2001. Past Stevie award winners include Acer Inc., Apple, BT, Ford Motor Company, ING, Procter & Gamble, Roche Group, and Samsung, among many others.
More than 230 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners. Novitas Communications was nominated in the Public Affairs category for a Communications or PR Campaign of the Year for rent control legislation in 2019 on behalf of the Colorado Apartment Association. Here’s what a few of them had to say about the Novitas Communications nomination:
- “An effective campaign, using several channels and hard data to connect with poll findings. Well-orchestrated…!”
- “This seems like a well-designed and well-executed campaign with positive results. This is a great example of how a public outreach campaign can achieve the objectives set forth.”
- “Impressive campaign results, especially strong click-through rates and percentage of placements with a positive tone. Not an easy feat on a very controversial topic.”
- “Incredible strategy, well written and I really enjoy the tactics they used.”
“This prestigious recognition showcases our company’s commitment to fostering an economic climate throughout the country in which people can thrive,” said Michelle Lyng, CEO at Novitas Communications. “We are honored that the work about which we are so passionate was the top-scoring public affairs campaign in the country. This speaks to our commitment to excellence and our expanded capabilities in digital media and public relations.”
More than 3,600 nominations from organizations of all sizes and virtually in every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Live Event of the Year, and App of the Year, among others.
The American Business Awards are the U.S.A.’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit, and non-profit, large, and small.
“Despite the toughest business conditions in memory, American organizations continue to demonstrate their commitment to innovation, creativity, and bottom-line results,” said Stevie Awards president Maggie Gallagher. “This year’s Stevie-winning nominations are full of inspiring stories of persistence, ingenuity, resourcefulness, and compassion. We celebrate all of their stories and look forward to showcasing them during our virtual awards ceremony on August 5.”
