At Novitas, we acknowledge our employees for their hard work and notable achievements. Our employee spotlight for August is Krista Crouch, manager. Krista is a self-starter who thrives in creative and fast-paced environments. Although Krista has only been at Novitas for a little over six months, she has already made a life-long impact. Here’s a little more about Krista.

What is your favorite thing about working at Novitas?
The opportunity we have to perform for our clients. Each day is a clean slate to create solutions for our clients that lead to results. We have intentionally designed a team of problem solvers and solution seekers who exceed our client’s daily needs, and it’s energizing to work with people who are dedicated to solving each client’s needs and having fun while doing so!

Why do you enjoy working in the PR industry?
The wins. Since I started in PR, nearly 15 years ago, the landscape has drastically changed. Probably more than the 15 years previous. The beats are no longer, some of the newspapers are no longer, a lot of media outlets have downsized, and a story is harder to come by now than ever before. The perfect pitch can sit in an inbox for weeks. So, when we get the wins, as Novitas continues to do, it’s important that as a team we celebrate, not only for ourselves, but for our clients too.

If you had an unlimited budget, where would you first travel once the coronavirus pandemic has ended and travel bans have been lifted?
EVERYWHERE. I’m so tired of being at home. I love Colorado and all, but I’m ready to travel. My husband and I celebrate milestone birthdays in a year and a half and I would love to explore Europe for a few weeks.

What is your favorite meal?
Thanksgiving, hands down. The appetizers, the meal, the desserts and the fact that eating the same food for a week straight afterwards is acceptable.

What is your favorite part about living in Colorado?
The responsibility of government leaders in our state. I hail from Oklahoma, one of the poorer states in the union. Oklahoma’s government leaders, for the most part, in the last several years have not valued the people in the state or made strides to further advance education for Oklahoma’s children. Oklahoma’s leadership lacks responsibility and accountability, and due to the successes leadership in Colorado has had over the last several years, I appreciate it. (This is also your reminder to vote.)

And, I like the scenery, I’m a beach girl at heart, but the mountains provide peace and solitude when I can’t afford housing in California.

What is your most memorable moment at Novitas?
Feeling at home. It’s odd that I’ve only worked at Novitas six months yet feel like I’ve been here for 10 years. I love the intention that we set at Novitas daily to better ourselves and our clients, and I love the people I get to work with daily!
