Account Manager

In the Account Manager position, a staff member will be responsible for assisting and managing the media relations, digital media, project management and/or creative/strategy for clients. This position requires fully developed speciality skills, a strong understanding of the industry landscape and understanding of client priorities and objectives. Agency experience is required. We are looking for a candidate with five to ten years of experience in public relations.

Main Responsibilities – General:

  • Serve as the primary contact for at least one account (with revenue justifying a fully-dedicated account manager) or oversee/play a clear leadership role on at least three clients.
  • Manage the implementation of work plans and ensure client deliverables are successfully met on deadline.
  • Play a leadership role in the sales process by identifying concepts and packaging expansion opportunity proposals, assisting with RFP responses, presentations, etc. with supervision and approval from senior leadership.
  • Display a strong understanding of and effectively communicate Agency’s service offerings to existing clients.
  • Successfully supervise at least one junior staff member, including providing guidance on their professional growth (as supported by current billings).

Main Responsibilities – Media Relations, Project Management, and Creative/Strategy:

  • Develops relationships with key top-tier/”Most Wanted” media and regularly shares new media contacts and opportunities with Agency staff.
  • Demonstrates a solid track record of regularly placing high profile media results on behalf of clients, demonstrating a strong ROI for the client.
  • Successfully plan, manage and escort media-related projects such as media tours, press trips or special events.
  • Demonstrate creativity by leading group brainstorms, developing new story ideas, and providing strategic recommendations on media relations approaches.
  • Play a clear leadership role or oversee the execution of special events for clients, including site selector luncheons, business investment missions and more.
  • Oversee all pre-event activities, including venue scouting, itinerary logistics and invitation delivery.
  • Handle vendor contracts and ensure proper billing.
  • Demonstrate a clear track record of successfully meeting deadlines and timelines.
  • Handle day-of logistics on behalf of clients, and provide on-site support when appropriate.
  • Develop or oversee content creation for client materials, including e-newsletters, website content, digital campaigns, marketing collateral, etc.
  • Oversee the development and drafting of marketing blueprints and branding campaigns.
  • Manage creative marketing campaigns on behalf of clients.
  • Demonstrate a clear track record of leading brainstorms, and providing and implementing creative ideas for proposals, presentations, etc.
  • Continually provide new and ‘fresh’ ideas for renewal proposals, new business proposals and current clients’ marketing campaigns.

The Associate is a position that works closely with our team. The Associate will work with the public relations team to ensure smooth running of daily tasks and as it relates to the entire agency.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or journalism. The candidate should have strong writing, research and organization skills, be willing to adjust to a variety of client temperaments and personalities and be willing to go above and beyond the call of duty in order to complete a project accurately and on time. Corporate communications experience is a plus. The candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit, and thrive in the fast-paced environment of an agency setting.

Public Relations Intern

Novitas Communications is hiring an intern to join our team in the heart of downtown Denver. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills, an interest in public relations, and a deadline-oriented work ethic. The intern will assist our team with research, writing, and creating media materials for clients in a range of industries.

For candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, we are able to accommodate college credit requirements.
