Justin Prendergast

Justin Prendergast is a manager at Novitas with nearly a decade of experience in public policy and communication. After beginning his career in foreign policy, Justin has managed issue advocacy organizations, communications operations and campaigns for state and national clients.

Most recently, Justin managed several high-level public affairs clients at Clear Creek Strategies, a Denver-based consultancy. In this capacity, he built and oversaw communications efforts for Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams’ reelection campaign.

Justin also directed all communications and political operations for a Colorado-based organization that supported commonsense candidates in the state legislature, picking up key wins in some of the most hotly-contested districts in Colorado. Justin oversaw and executed the largest independent expenditure committee in the state in support of University of Colorado Regent-at-Large candidate Heidi Ganahl. Ganahl won her race with more votes than any other Republican on the Colorado ballot in 2016, an outcome that kept conservatives in control of the university’s elected Board of Regents.

In 2014, Justin served as Political Director for a successful statewide campaign, overseeing a team of operatives and grassroots volunteers in each of Colorado’s 64 counties.

Justin started his career working in Washington, D.C., first in the office of former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and, later, as Senior Advisor to former Under Secretary of State Reuben Jeffery III. In 2011, he joined Mitt Romney’s Presidential campaign in Boston, Massachusetts, where he developed and supervised the campaign’s thirteen Foreign Policy Working Groups in coordination with the National Security Advisory Team.

Having spent his formative years in Atlanta, Georgia, Justin graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2009 with a BA in International Affairs. Upon his return to Colorado in 2013, Justin met his wife, Hillary. They reside in Denver, where they spend most Saturday mornings watching Justin’s beloved Burnley Football Club defy all odds in the English Premier League.
